It is rare to join a group where the feeling of home resonates from the very start. This palpable sense of belonging within the choir continues to feed my spirit week by week and has made my life considerably richer as a result. As members of the choir, we are joined by a deep love of music, a commitment to each other and a willingness to strive for a level of excellence beyond what any one of us might achieve individually. The music and careful work we do in rehearsal, under the deft leadership of our director Woody, is for me a form of meditation, a form of prayer. One of my favorite pieces we sing is Ubi Caritas by Maurice Duruflé. This Gregorian melody is among the many pieces we sing that instill a sense of timeless beauty. When I sing with the choir, I am home indeed.
