St. Philip's Condition Survey and Community Meeting w/ Architect

Community. Faith. Caring. The Episcopal Church Welcomes You...

The St. Philip’s Church Building Condition Survey is now available for review by the Congregation and broader St. Philip’s community. Our church’s Restoration Committee is excited to share this survey with you. The Condition Survey can be accessed through this link. We can make hard copies available by request for anyone that would like one.

In 2017, St. Philip’s Vestry contracted with Architect Tom Fenniman to complete a Condition Survey of our Church building. Tom worked collaboratively with our Restoration Committee and a team of engineers and consultants. The final document is the result of that collaborative process and incorporates some early input raised in the two informal meetings with the congregation. The objective of the Survey is to analyze and outline the existing conditions of the church sanctuary and exterior envelope, providing a foundation for planning and budgeting future building improvements. In addition to a comprehensive assessment, the architect has included some recommendations on possible solutions and preliminary budget estimates.

We invite you to join us on Saturday, May 19 at 1 pm when Mr. Fenniman will be discussing the Survey at a community meeting at the Church. Your review of the survey in advance is strongly encouraged. The meeting will help answer any additional questions people might have about the current condition of the building as well as guide a constructive dialogue around potential solutions for issues outlined in the process we undertook some four years ago. The Survey should serve as a jumping off point for input from the St. Philip’s community about what we want to undertake now to ensure the vibrancy of this important resource for the next 50 or 100 years. We looked forward to moving our mission forward.
